An industry mentoring scheme, which is very successful in supporting second-year students who have not gone on placement, and third year and masters students who want to understand more about the industry and get support with applications and CVs. The scheme is aimed at developing employability skills, networking, confidence and a wider appreciation of the range of roles available to assist them in their next steps. One of our students was even offered a job as a result of the scheme.
The scheme will be running again this year starting in October and running for six months. Students need to commit to meet up at least once in person with their mentor and then if more convenient by Skype on a monthly basis.
An online form needs to be completed by students.
Once students have applied and completed the form, we will start a matching process with suitable industry mentors based on their responses. If successful in the matching process students will be invited to a 'meet your mentor' event at the start of November.
