CCI – Academic Skills
Supporting your role as a personal tutor
Academic advice and guidance is at the heart of a contemporary higher education. CCI Academic Skills can offer your tutee academic skills support and advice on a range of skills areas relevant to their assignments and learning development, for example:
● Academic writing and structure (essays, reports, and dissertations)
● Making the most of assignment feedback
● Critical analysis
● Referencing, citations and avoiding plagiarism
● Academic reading
● Presentation and communication skills
● Group work skills
● Time management: organising and planning your workload
● Exam and revision techniques
Specialist provision is also available for international students.
Who can use CCi Academic Skills?
CCi Academic Skills is available to all CCI students and staff, at all levels of study.
CCi Academic Skills also offers
CCi Academic Skills run drop-in sessions throughout the year, one-to-one bookable sessions, small group sessions and online sessions all tailored to suit students’ needs. You can signpost your tutee to further information, advice and activities on all of these academic skills areas on Moodle in the CCI Skills – Academic module.
Embedded academic skills workshops within the curriculum teaching timetable are also available. Please contact us for further information and to discuss your requirements
